During the past year Vaal Maseru embarked on a journey of really getting involved with SMME Black owned Bus Companies that needed assistance, financially and otherwise, as we felt the need for skills development and transfer, as well as coaching such a Black owned Company into a partnership Company for future endeavours’ and projects that might present themselves in the marketplace.
During the first half of 2013, such an opportunity presented itself in the form of a 100% Black owned Company by the name of VILOT RCL. This Company came into existence through the assistance of the Lethabong Community, situated near Brits.
We enthusiastically decided to immediately involve ourselves after a Deo Diligence investigation into the viability of such a service and the implementation of a daily Commuter service between Lethabong and Brits.
A Contract was drafted, negotiated and signed and the implementation of the service as from the 1st of June 2013, started without any problems, with great satisfaction and support from the Lethabong Community.
Vaal Maseru supplied the following, to enable the service to start with its operation.
- 7 X MAN HB 2, 65 seated commuter type buses, valued at R 5 600 000.00.
- The total maintenance of the buses.
- Capital and financial assistance to the amount of R 800 000.00.
- Managerial expertise.
- Skills development and Driver Training.
The service is now in operation for nearly 12 Months and is operating without any problems.
It is our vision to assist this Company to expand its services, so as to enable them to grow from strength to strength. Vilot RCL also obtained membership with the South African Bus Operators Association (SABOA)
